Reg and Beth find Clayton Fortune badly beaten and stumbling out of an underpass. They take him to hospital where he tells Sally and Emma that he was attacked and raped after visiting a club. Neil suspects that the assault was carried out by Clayton's friends who were heard mocking him. When Sally and Emma visit Clayton's home, he confesses to his deeply religious mother that he is gay.
