Information about cookies
What is a cookie?
Cookies are small text files that a site or its service provider stores on your computers hard drive through your browser that enables the site to recognize your browser and remember certain information. You can think of cookies as a 'memory' for the site.
How do you use cookies?
Cookies are mainly used on the site to personalize the user experience. Examples of this includes letting you store a custom channel selection, add or remove favourite channels and keeping track of the selected sort order of channels.
Some analytics tools that we use on the site also deploy cookies. This provides us as developers with a way to know for example how many unique users that visit the site every month, what pages they visit and how long they stay on each page. This information is then used to improve the site.
Our third party ad serving solution also uses cookies to keep track of unique users. This information is used for example to find out how many unique users that have seen an ad and to follow up on campaign results (it can show the number of unique users who clicked a banner).
Can I use the site without cookies?
You can, but some features will be disabled (we won't be able to remember your stored channels for example).
How do I disable cookies in my browser?
It depends on the browser. Here are instructions for the most common browsers:
