DS Stuart Turner, cheered by the Sun Hill officers after his appearance on TV, is determined to crack the burglary case reconstructed on the show. The man seen outside the Strouds' house on the night of the robbery is identified as Rob Tinning - recently released from prison after serving eight years for rape. When questioned, he admits that he slashed the car tyres but insists that was all.
