Rise of the Nazis

Adolf Hitler had been chancellor of Germany for just under a year and it was a challenging balancing act. On the one hand the Nazis had to be be mindful of president Paul von Hindenburg and the vice chancellor Franz von Papen, who were members of Germany's traditional aristocratic and ruling elite.Then, there was the Nazis' own power base, the stormtroopers, made up of millions of angry, disenfranchised men who wreaked havoc on the streets of Germany.
