Reagan and Gorbachev

When Ronald Reagan and Michael Gorbachev met for the first time in 1985, the Cold War was at its peak. Since his election four years before, Reagan had been conducting a very aggressive policy towards the Soviet Union. But in 1983 a manoeuvre simulating an armed conflict with the Soviet Union nearly triggered a nuclear apocalypse.
