Meet John Doe (1941)

Fired reporter Ann Mitchell runs a final article purportedly from `John Doe' a homeless man planning to hurl himself off a building. The piece causes a storm, and Ann is forced to produce the mysterious Doe, in the shape of washed-up ballplayer John Willoughby.
