Detective Cyrus Lupo's return to the mean streets of New York is marred when his seriously ill brother commits suicide by lethal injection. The tragedy is hit with a twist when a death in identical circumstances takes place. Lupo and Green investigate and are led to a parolee nicknamed `Dr Death' and his daughter.
