Jarhead (2005)

Gritty Gulf War drama based on a former US Marine's best-selling memoir about his experiences in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Anthony `Swoff' Swofford makes it through boot camp to become a Marine sniper and is sent to Saudi Arabia where he and his unit wait for action. It takes another 175 days of heat, boredom, tension and worries about girlfriends at home before the fighting actually starts.
