Girl, Interrupted (1999)

A teenager diagnosed with borderline personality disorder is confined to a psychiatric institution way beyond the terms of her illness, where she encounters fellow patients Lisa Rowe and Polly `Torch' Clark, as well as nurse Valerie Owen and psychiatrist Dr Sonia Wick. James Mangold's film is based on the true story of Susanna Kaysen, who wrote an acclaimed account of her own incarceration.
