Bicentennial Man (1999)

Based on a story by Isaac Asimov. A domestic robot absorbs human traits and emotions from the family he serves over a period of 200 years. The longer he stays with the family, the more he seems able to express emotion and creativity until one day, a mechanic informs the android that he may be able to turn him into a human being.
