For decades, horse racing has been entertaining fans all around the world. It is especially the combination of elegance, speed, and the energy from the horses and riders which ha captivated fans. These elements have also been discovered by the cinema and television sector, which has realized the potential of this elegant but intense sport as a perfect subject for movies and TV. 

Over the years, many movies and TV shows has explored horse racing, including the drama, triumphs, and heartbreaks on and off the racetrack. Other than the element of horse racing itself, some movies and TV shows has also introduced horse racing betting as an integrated part of the story, which will be discussed further in this article.

This movie is yet another biographical movie, which showcases the story of the legendary racehorse who won the Triple Crown in 1973 The true story is about breaking records and becoming one of the most famous horses in history. Directed by Randall Wallace, and with stars such as Diane Lane and John Malkovich, the movie really captures the breathtaking moments of Secretariat's races.

The Black Stallion (1979)

This classis from 1979 provides the perfect combination between adventure and the majesty of horse racing. The movie is based on the novel by Walter Farley and directed by Carroll Ballard. the storyline is based on a friendship between a boy and a wild stallion, which leads them to the racetrack, where they end up in competition with some of the best racehorses in the country.

Let it ride (1989)

This comedy directed by Joe Pytka, takes a humorous stance on horse racing and betting. The movie follows a down-on-his-luck cab driver who experiences one of his best days in his life on the racetrack.
