Educating Yorkshire

This documentary takes viewers inside the doors of Thornhill Community Academy near Dewsbury, highlighting what happens in the secondary school. Through highlighting the diverse institution, almost exactly half White British and half British-Asian, `Educating Yorkshire' provides an insight into modern school life in the UK as it follows head teacher Jonny Mitchell, who tries to build upon recent improvements in exam results among the school's students. The programme also explores the universal themes of teenage life and the student-teacher relationships that are important in a young person's formative years.
