The Piano (1993)

The sensual and erotic story of Ada, a mute Scottish widow who is sent off with her young daughter to an arranged marriage with a settler in the harsh world of mid 19th-century New Zealand. Ada's voice and life are embodied in her beloved piano, which is abandoned by her new husband and rescued by the neighbour, who begins a sensual courtship as she plays the piano.
