Bye Bye Birdie (1963)

Based on events surrounding Elvis Presley's experience of the US Army draft, this film focuses on fictional pop star Conrad Birdie, who is called up for National Service, preventing him from starring in the movie that was to make his agent rich. The agent, who needs money to escape from his cantankerous mother, sets up a last performance for his protege. The farewell event attracts legions of adoring fans.
