Phoebe's new job as a telemarketer gets off to a tricky start when the first person she calls, an office worker called Earl, tells her he feels unappreciated and wants to kill himself. Phoebe keeps him on the telephone, trying to persuade him otherwise and finally takes the desperate measure of going to his office to convince him to stay alive.
