The story of the legendary breakout by World War II Allied POWs from Colditz Castle, the Germans' supposedly escape-proof fortress in Saxony. Undaunted by the threat of execution, the inmates try every conceivable means of escape - until someone hits upon the audacious idea of walking out dressed as enemy officers.
