Series 1 Episode 9: Plants

An incredible look at plants and their ingenious solutions to life's challenges. Time-lapse photography reveals plants acting like fly-paper, or spring-loaded traps, to catch insects, while vines are shown developing suckers and claws to haul themselves up trees. Later the importance of shape for survival is illustrated by the dragon's blood tree, which captures mist and shades its roots through its unusual form.
