A British Army intelligence officer, posing as a commando chief, leads a group of soldiers on an intentionally unsuccessful raid behind enemy lines. Once imprisoned in a POW camp, he turns his attention to escape and the aim of his assignment - to carry out a surprise attack on General Rommel's strategically placed artillery emplacements.
