Escape From New York (1981)

Futuristic thriller set in Manhattan, which has become a maximum-security prison. When the US president is captured and held hostage by a ruthless gang, only one-eyed mercenary Snake Plissken is considered capable of effecting a rescue. If he fails, he is programmed to self-destruct.
