Cycling superstars Geraint Thomas and Mark Cavendish are among the home nations riders with high hopes in the men's time trial on day seven of the multi-sport Commonwealth Games. Thomas is competing off the back of the Tour de France, which the Welshman won in 2018, while Manx rider Cavendish holds the record for most stage wins in road racing's blue riband event. Another likely to be in medal contention is Ethan Hayter, who retained the British time trial title in imperious fashion this summer.
