The Conversation (1974)

Thriller in which an obsessive surveillance expert becomes over-involved in a case, finding himself embroiled in murder and high-level power play. After listening to recordings of a bugged conversation, he starts to believe it points to a conspiracy much larger than the routine marital infidelity he expected.
