Time Team

Series 13 Episode 9: Sussex Ups and Downs

The team travel to the South Downs in Sussex to investigate a Stone Age landscape. The site is littered with the remains of 6000-year-old flint mines and what could be one of the rarest examples of British archaeology: a Neolithic settlement. The site was first discovered in 1923 by amateur archaeologist John Pull, who battled official animosity and complacency to redraw the prehistoric map of southern England.
