For decades there have been calls for compensation to atone for the sins of slavery. Africans were transported to the Caribbean over three centuries to work on sugar and cotton plantations. Today there are 16 million people living in the Caribbean. Zeinab Badawi is in Barbados to speak to Sir Hilary Beckles, who chairs a commission seeking justice and reparations for the descendants of enslaved Africans.
