Sense and Sensibility (1995)

This Jane Austen adaptation follows the fate that befalls a widow and her three headstrong daughters when they lose their family estate to a male heir by a previous marriage. Exiled to a ramshackle cottage, the quartet are encumbered by a lowly social status from which wedlock represents the only escape.
