Judge John Deed

Deed is involved in a legal battle between parents and doctors over whether a seriously ill baby should be resuscitated if his heart stops again. Also, after a young lad dies while in custody on a theft charge, Deed struggles to cope with his feelings of guilt and memories of his own traumatic boyhood. Drinking heavily, he argues with Jo Mills, and storms the Home Secretary's dinner party, spoiling for a fight.
