Run by father-and-son Harry and Mark Pilgrim, the 29-bedroom Meudon country-house hotel in Falmouth was once a sparkling jewel on the Cornish coast, boasting 8.5 acres of subtropical gardens leading down to the hotel's private beach. However, Harry's reluctance to let go of the reins, old-fashioned decor and an unimaginative menu has left it battling low occupancy and plummeting profits. Can Alex revive its fortunes?
