In July 2009, amateur metal detectorist Terry Herbert found an Anglo-Saxon treasure hoard worth millions in a Staffordshire field. Analysis has shown that the gold comes from Byzantium and the gemstones come from the Indian subcontinent, and some of the glass decorations may be Roman, indicating that Anglo-Saxon warriors were keen recyclers. This special reveals the Anglo-Saxon craftsmen's remarkable skills.
