The Captive Heart (1946)

Examining the plight of prisoners of war in Germany from 1940. Captain Karel Hasek is an English-speaking Czech who, having escaped from a concentration camp, assumes the identity of a dead English officer, Geoffrey Mitchell, in order to keep out of the hands of the Gestapo. He finds himself forced to write to the man's wife and one thing leads to another when the two comfort each other after the war.
